The other day I watched one of the Star Trek movies made in the 80’s (or was it 90’s.) It was the one where they have to go back in time to get a whale to do something to save something else (can you tell that I didn’t watch it all the way through?), and it was so corny! Just the plot of having to go back in time to get a whale in the first place is certainly an ‘interesting’ idea, but then it just got sillier and sillier (but I must say, I enjoyed watching Spok squeezing the hippy’s shoulder [Oh, Spok...]).
Yeah, it was a pretty enjoyable night… (sigh).
“Cap’n, there be whales here!!”
Star Trek 4 happens to be one of my favorites thank you very much. Yes, my favorite logic was going around the sun backwards fast enough would go…back in time? I had never known that whales could speak to aliens and I certainly didn’t know that transparent aluminum is possible. What’s funny is that if you ever get into watching Star Trek movies you will notice that the ‘even number’ movies are the best: 2, 4, 6, etc.. Oh, and it was released in 1986. It is now 23 years old…scary.
