Okay, so I just thought that it would be fun to have a mini-series on this blog, shorter than the GalactiGuy posts. But, I want your opinion on what the hypothetical mini-series would be about. Now, the mini-series would be typed on this blog. It wouldn’t be filmed or podcastified, simply written. I’m looking for a genre for the series (e.g. mystery, sci-fi), but please don’t give me detail in your idea (e.g. “I think you should write about a guy named Jerry who’s secretly a superhero…”) I’d like to make up my own plot, but I do want to know what kind of theme you think I should have.
Now, of course, I want to write something both you and I want to read (and in my case, write.) For example, I probably won’t want to write a chick-flick type mini-series… not really my thing. But, please give my suggestions, and we’ll see if this whole mini-series thing is a go! Please comment and tell me what you think. Thanks for sharing your thoughts!
*Says sarcastically:* “I think you should write a story about a guy named Fro Joe that gets a girlfriend in the end.” (I’m not quite sure whether that would be technically ‘Fantasy’ or ‘Mystery’–I suppose it could be Sci-fi if I get one in the future??).
I’m totally kidding, haha.
I always thought it would be interesting to do something with alternate dimensions… Just a thought.
Thanks. I like that thought. That way I have multiple opportunities for different themes. Thanks!
Oh, yes! Definitely a Chick-Flick!
No… I like a mystery. Sci-fi overtones would be fun, too, within the larger framework of the mystery storyline.
:-) Y.M.
(yer Mama)
Thanks, Mama!
By the way, to any reading this, you don’t need to choose mystery or sci-fi. Choose whatever genre you want!
I think you should write a story about a guy who asks people about what story he should write, and then one day while he’s staring at the computer wondering what to write, some guy from a covert black ops government initiative kidnaps him so he can, like, help shoot bad guys and disarm bombs and stuff, and then when the guy (the first guy not the black ops guy) says he doesn’t know how to do all that stuff the black ops guys is really disappointed and not really all that impressed when that guy (the not-black-ops guy) says that he’s pretty good a chess, so maybe he can fight the bad guys by chess, and as the guy (the not-black-ops guy, not the black ops guy) is being ridiculed for his lame play-chess-to-combat-evil idea, he comes up with a scenario where playing chess could actually defeat a bad guy, as long as his backup is a lovely sidekick who knows martial arts and computer hacking and his adversary thinks he’s, like, all the best chess player in the world, and, surprisingly, the guy (the first guy) actually convinces the other guy because their arch-enemy actually is all egotistical about his chess skilz so they start the secret operation and everything was going great (the sidekick was a brunette) but it turns out the guy who was, like, the door guard at the place the black ops guy first took the wasn’t-before-but-now-is-black-ops-guy was actually a double agent and heard the whole plan so when the first guy showed up for his chess match to save the world, the bad guy had implemented an evil scheme – he’d glued down the first guy’s rooks – which ultimately led to the first guy losing the game so the bad guy’s ego was even more inflated and then he ended up ruling the world and the first guy was even ridiciuled by the brunette, which really hurt, becuase the first guy thought she was the girl for him – all tough-like, but with a soft heart – and so, broken-hearted, the wasn’t-before-and-then-was-for-while-but-now-isn’t-anymore-a-black-ops-guy went back home and when he sat at his computer, his mockingly blank text file was still on his screen, and he still didn’t know what to write.
I think you should write about that.
I think it would be even better if it was all just one sentence.
Fine! OK! So that wasn’t exactly a “genre”.
OK… how about a musical?
Infomercial?
Mockumentary?
A skit for a mime?
Uh… well, thanks for commenting, Papa… I think…
Well, now I feel guilty. Sci-fi with a touch of mystery. And a l337 haxor brunette.
