Young Love

Thursday, July 27th, 2006

This is quite odd. I don’t remember how this came up, but Henry (my 4-year old brother) said that he loves Jo Jo, a girl from church. So next Sunday he got all romantic. As kids me and my sibs couldn’t help pushing him to the extreme with Jo Jo, so during the greeting time I told Henry to go tell her he loved her. ” I think I do this,”he said as through the crowd and swung her around in a lovey dovey way. It was really funny. After church they kissed. Henry turned it into a game and made a big seen out of it. I joined Jo Jo’s side with Jack. Later I brought the case to Mama and she said no more of that game.

I’m Right and You’re Wrong

Yesterday, Mama, Jack, Me, and Anna were cleaning the basement. Mama was labeling boxes while talking about snakes. I have a bunch of snakes, dinosaurs, frogs, salamanders, and bugs, which meant we needed somewhere to put them all. So Mama got a clean cat litter box and labeled it “Dinosaurs and Reptiles and Bugs.” I pointed out that frogs and salamanders are amphibians not reptiles. So she changed the title to “Dinosaurs and Reptiles and Bugs and Amphibians.” Later, we talked about the time a North American Rattle Snake was in our garden, (Mama chased it with the garden tools and the hose, then called an animal control company.) Jack and I started putting things on her back and hissing at her. She kind of freaked out.

A while ago , a rocket named Discovery launched. Its destination, to deliver critcal supplies to The International Space Center. The whole family watched the event on the TV. Henry was pretty enthusiastic about it. Mama was in tears. There was a camera on the external fuel tank, which allowed us to see the side of Discovery. You can see what we saw here. Enjoy!

“Jungle Warnings”

Tuesday, July 4th, 2006

Out here in the jungle, I think you’ll concur,
If you are not cautious, you’ll be lunch for sure.
If you ever come here, you really must beware.
Because if you don’t, you’ll get a good scare.
Crocodiles, panthers, lions, avoid those kinds of things.
By the way you also should hide from things with wings.
