About a month ago, me and my family went to Autie Heather’s house to swim. Her house is is a long drive from our house and our air conditioner was broken. So we drove there with all the windows open. When we got there, we did the usual swimming agenda. Then we jumped into the pool. It was SO cold at first! But soon we got used to the temperature. Henry and Will went to the small pool to swim. Papa brought Will to the play set in the back. Will climbed up the ladder all by himself and went down the slide. When he reached the bottom he slipped slightly and landed in an awkward position. It was pretty funny. Later, we set up a Slip-n-Slide. But the shower part of it was leaking,so we took the hose and did it ourselves. Most of my cousins, all of them girls, refused the shower part. We also set up a wacky sprinkler. I think I was the only one who liked it. We also had a great dinner with dessert and pop. Poor Henry. After a while he sat down with his towel and began shivering. Soon he stopped and started playing. Later, we found water balloons and me and Papa secretly filled them. We came out with a bucket of water balloons and Papa, Madison, Uncle John, Auntie Heather, and I began throwing them at the people in the pool. Later, my throat started hurting. We thought it was strep, but I’m just fine.

Guess what! Today is my mom’s 40th birthday. I have a peom for you that comes from “The Indispensible Calvin and Hobbes.” It was originally for Calvin’s mom for Mother’s Day, but I decided to change the day.

“I was going to buy a card with hearts of pink and red.
But then I thought I’d rather spend the money on me, instead.
It’s awfully hard to buy things when one’s allowance is so small.
So I guess your pretty lucky I got you anything at all.
